Last updated: 7 September 2026
1. INTRODUCTION
This Cookie Policy explains how OPTIMA BIOMED S.L. (“Optima Biomed”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies in connection with the website:
This Policy should be read together with the Optima Biomed Privacy Policy.
2. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files that a website or an external service may place on a user’s device when the website is visited.
Cookies and similar technologies may be used for different purposes, including:
- enabling essential website functionality;
- maintaining website security;
- preventing fraud, abuse and automated traffic;
- remembering technical or user preferences;
- supporting third-party services;
- measuring website performance or usage, where applicable; and
- other purposes permitted by applicable law.
Some cookies are deleted when the browser session ends, while others may remain on the device for a defined period.
3. TYPES OF COOKIES
Cookies may be classified according to who manages them and their purpose.
First-party cookies
These are cookies associated with the domain optimabiomed.eu or with the infrastructure used to provide and protect the website.
Third-party cookies
These are cookies placed or managed by external service providers whose technology is used in connection with the website.
Strictly necessary or technical cookies
These cookies are used where necessary to provide the website, maintain its security, manage network traffic, detect malicious or automated activity, or enable essential technical functions.
Under applicable Spanish cookie rules, cookies used exclusively for exempt technical purposes generally do not require prior consent.
Non-essential cookies
Cookies used for purposes such as analytics, measurement, personalisation or advertising may require the user’s prior consent where required by applicable law.
4. COOKIES OBSERVED ON THIS WEBSITE
The cookies used by the website may vary depending on technical infrastructure, security controls, browser configuration and services active at the time of the visit.
The following cookies or categories of cookies have been identified during technical testing of the website.
A. CLOUDFLARE SECURITY COOKIES
Cookie: __cf_bm
Provider:
Cloudflare
Purpose:
Used by Cloudflare’s bot-management and security systems to distinguish legitimate traffic from automated or potentially malicious traffic and to protect the website.
Category:
Strictly necessary / security
Typical duration:
Approximately 30 minutes after inactivity.
Consent:
Not normally required where used exclusively for essential security purposes.
Cookie: cf_clearance
Provider:
Cloudflare
Purpose:
This cookie may be created when a visitor completes a Cloudflare security or verification challenge. It stores evidence of successful verification, helping prevent repeated challenges and protecting access to the website. It is not necessarily present during ordinary browsing.
Category:
Strictly necessary / security
Duration:
Determined by the applicable Cloudflare security configuration.
Consent:
Not normally required where used exclusively for essential security purposes.
B. OTHER TECHNICAL AND SECURITY COOKIES
Current production testing did not identify additional cookies with names beginning with __Host- or __Secure- during ordinary page viewing.
The website infrastructure may use additional technical or security cookies conditionally if required to maintain secure sessions, validate requests, enforce security controls, prevent misuse or support the technical operation of the website. Their exact names and duration may vary if the underlying hosting or security infrastructure is updated.
C. GOOGLE COOKIES
Current production testing did not identify Google cookies, including NID, SEARCH_SAMESITE or __Secure-STRP, or automatic Google tracking requests during ordinary page viewing.
Google Workspace is used as business-email infrastructure, as described in the Privacy Policy. This does not mean that Google browser cookies or Google tracking resources are loaded when a visitor views the website.
5. CONSENT AND COOKIE MANAGEMENT
Strictly necessary or technical cookies that are required to operate or secure the website may be used without prior consent where permitted by applicable law.
Where Optima Biomed uses cookies for purposes that are not exempt from the consent requirement, such cookies should only be activated after the user has provided valid consent, where required by applicable law.
Where a consent-management mechanism is made available, users will be able to accept or reject non-essential cookies and, where appropriate, manage their preferences.
Rejecting non-essential cookies should not prevent access to the core informational content of the website, although certain optional functionality may be affected.
6. GOOGLE SERVICES
Google Workspace is used as business-email infrastructure for Optima Biomed. It is not embedded as a browser-side service during ordinary website viewing.
Current production testing did not identify automatic requests to Google-owned domains, Google browser cookies, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or other Google tracking resources during ordinary page viewing.
If a browser-side Google service is introduced in the future, this Cookie Policy will be updated and any required consent controls will be implemented before non-essential cookies or similar technologies are activated.
7. CLOUDFLARE
Cloudflare provides website security and traffic-protection technologies used in connection with the website.
Cloudflare may place strictly necessary cookies in order to:
- detect and mitigate automated or malicious traffic;
- apply security challenges;
- validate legitimate visitors;
- protect the website from attacks; and
- maintain secure access to the website.
Cloudflare states that the __cf_bm cookie is required for its bot-management solutions and that cf_clearance may be used conditionally to record successful security verification when a challenge is triggered.
8. SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES AND BROWSER STORAGE
Current production testing did not identify material use of Local Storage, Session Storage or IndexedDB associated with optimabiomed.eu. No analytics or marketing tracking storage was identified.
However, website technology may evolve over time and may introduce other browser-storage technologies where necessary for functionality, security or future website features.
Any material change involving personal-data processing or non-essential tracking will be reflected in this Cookie Policy and, where required, in the website’s consent mechanism.
9. HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES THROUGH YOUR BROWSER
Users may configure their browser to:
- block cookies;
- delete existing cookies;
- allow cookies only from selected websites;
- block third-party cookies; or
- receive a notification before a cookie is stored.
Blocking all cookies may affect certain security or technical functions of the website.
The method for managing cookies depends on the browser and device being used. Users should consult their browser’s privacy or cookie settings for current instructions.
10. THIRD-PARTY RESPONSIBILITY
Third-party providers may process information collected through their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy and cookie policies.
Optima Biomed selects service providers for legitimate website, communication and security purposes but does not control the internal processing performed independently by those providers.
Where applicable, information concerning international transfers of personal data is provided in the Optima Biomed Privacy Policy.

Optima Biomed may update this Cookie Policy when necessary to reflect:
- changes in applicable law or regulatory guidance;
- changes in website functionality;
- changes in hosting or security infrastructure;
- the introduction or removal of third-party services; or
- changes in the cookies or similar technologies used by the website.
The current version will be published on this website together with its revision date.
